Key deadlines for employers by January 31st, 2025

Consulting House “Velinov and Partners” reminds you that by January 31, 2025, employers are obligated to:

  • Notify in writing each employee of the amount of paid annual leave they are entitled to in the calendar year, including any carried over or unused leave from previous calendar years.
  • Report to the Labor Inspectorate any overtime worked during the 2024 calendar year.
  • Employers who are obliged entities under the Law on Protection of Persons Reporting or Publicly

Disclosing Information about Violations (LPPSPDIV) are required to submit statistical information to the Commission for Personal Data Protection (CPDP) by January 31 each year regarding the number of reports received in the previous year, their unique identification numbers (UIN), subject matter, number of inspections conducted, and their results. Employers who have not received any reports during this reporting period do not submit statistical information to the CPDP. Obliged entities under the law include employers in the public and private sectors, regardless of their legal form, as follows:

    • Employers in the public sector, with the exception of municipalities as per Article 12, paragraph 2 of the LPPSPDIV.
    • Employers in the private sector with 50 or more employees.
    • Employers in the private sector, regardless of the number of employees, if the 1 activity they carry out falls within the scope of European Union acts specified in Part I, letter “B” and Part II of the Annex to Article 3, paragraphs 1 and 3.
  • Employers with more than 50 employees should prepare an annual list, no later than the end of January, certifying the designated workplaces for fulfilling the quota under Article 38, paragraph 1 of the Law on Persons with Disabilities. The list is kept at the enterprise and is presented upon request by the control bodies of the State Labor Inspectorate.
  • Employers with more than 50 employees are obliged to annually determine workplaces suitable for the employment of 4 to 10 percent of the total number of employees, depending on the economic activity. For this purpose, the Employment Commission established in the enterprise determines annually, no later than the end of January, the suitable workplaces and positions for the employment of persons with reduced capacity.
